--What is "PSO", "PSO V2", and "PSO PC"?
"PSO" is the abbreviation for Phantasy Star Online. "PSO V2" is the
abbreviation for Phantasy Star Online Version 2. "PSO PC" is the abbreviation
for the PC version of Phantasy Star Online Version 2. These abbreviations will
be used throughout the rest of this FAQ.
--What is a Technique?
In the Phantasy Star Online game series magic spells are called Techniques.
--Who can learn a Technique?
All character types except for Androids can learn Techniques.
--What is a Technique Disc?
Unlike in other games you must find or purchase a Technique Disc in order for
your character to be able to learn a Technique (magic spell). Once you have a
Technique Disc your character will still need to meet the required amount of
MST in order to learn that Technique.
--What is "MST"?
"MST" is the abbreviation used in PSO for "Mental Strength".
--What function does MST serve?
A characters MST level will determine how high a level Technique Disc can be
learned and also the power of attack Techniques except Megid.
--How do I raise my characters MST?
There are four ways. Raising your characters level through normal play,
using a Mind Material, feeding your MAG items that will raise its Mind stat,
and equipping items which raise MST.
--What is "TP"?
"TP" is is the abbreviation used in PSO for "Technique Points".
--What function does TP serve?
Every time you use a Technique it costs a certain number of TP.
--How much TP does it cost to use a Technique?
Only Reverser and Ryuker have a set TP cost to use. The cost to use the other
Techniques is based on the levels of both the Technique and character.
--Why is there only one level of Ryuker?
Because it wouldn't make sense if there was more than one level. It and the
item "Telepipe" always so the same thing.
--Why is there only one level of Reverser?
To make the game a little more challenging. If Reverser had more levels it
would enable players to revive their fallen teammates without putting
themselves in any danger. Both Reverser and the item "Moon Atomizer"
do the same thing.
--How do the Techniques differ in PSO from PSO V2/PSO PC?
In PSO Techniques only go to level fifteen. In PSO V2 Techniques got to level
thirty. Only FOrce class characters can learn Techniques above level fifteen.
